Button and Scamp are both rescued dogs. Button was adopted as a young pup from the Humane Society of Beaufort County, NC. She had been given as a gift to someone who didn't want her. We found Scamp starving on the side of the road. He was covered with ticks and was limping from being clipped by a car. Now they both are fine and living happily with us on our farm. Button has done some pet therapy in nursing homes. Scamp just protects and plays all day. Button and Scamp are best of friends!

Our First Dog

PUFF and CROW

PUFF (short for Puffkins) was our cat for almost 20 years. She died in 2001 and is missed greatly. We adopted her from an animal shelter in Virginia. In her younger days, she was an excellent mouser and climber. She enjoyed following us when we went on walks in the woods-- more like a dog than a cat. Puff was a very feisty cat, playful and at times of her choosing, loving. She lived a good long life and gave us a lot of pleasure. Sometimes I still think I glimpse her out of the corner of my eye, quietly walking by on her way to kitchen.

CROW was our first dog. We found him living on the farm when we moved here. We fed him and loved him and he gave us his loyalty. He was the most gentle and loving dog with us, but was hell on rabbits and squirrels! He had a slim physique, and ran like the wind. When he looked at us his eyes made us melt. Tragically, he was hit by a car a few years ago.

Have a Heart

Please support spay and neuter. In Beaufort County NC alone, there are thousands of unwanted animals put to death each year. Other's that are abandoned die horrible deaths by slow starvation, car and disease. It is a hard reality that there are many ignorant, irresponsible and uncaring people right here in this county, who will dump, kill, or otherwise abuse their unwanted animals. The vast majority of these poor animals would have made wonderful loving pets, if only someone had cared. Pet over-population is a serious and sad problem. It is preventable, if only enough people cared enough to act responsibly. Lets help prevent suffering by preventing unwanted animals. LETS SPAY AND NEUTER OUR DOGS AND CATS!
